Yet another arrival

Yup, got an axle, to swap with my current Glanza axle so I can get rid of the god forsaken rattling on the pillowball axle arm bushes :)

Truth be told, again

And here's a low quality clip to amuse you too (notice the smoke billowing out on the first run!)

Well, a couple of updates to keep me going - I recently received a piece of a puzzle that was missing from my life for over 2 years of searching...

Can you guess what it is yet?

Yes, I've finally gotten my hands on a Blitz K1-200V turbocharger!! A crap one, but still, I have one! It's got about a meter of shaft play and is leaking oil from every orifice, but still, I have one!! Beyond that though, it has a cracked wastegate too, but the impeller/expeller are immaculate, so that'll be sent off for a rebuild and refurb soon, and should hopefully signify a major step towards....my car not being abysmal. I also had a semi-productive weekend, though not as productive as I would've liked as I failed to receive a certain item.

I travelled down to Bournemouth to join a Dyno Day at Triton, and pop my dyno cherry, and have a laugh at the state of the car. And it was amusing, the ensuing smokescreen dropped the faces of the operators, and stank out the warehouse.

The car produced a paltry 126.6bhp, not that I really care for figures, but what is interesting to note is that the power was produced from a CT9 that is obviously worse for wear, and the boost spiked to 6psi and dropped to 3psi by the redline, so there was barely any boost there! Here are the resulting graph:

This has given me a good starting point now, and by next time I will have sorted out a variety of the issues the car is afflicted with, and get one step towards having it running....well!

Meh

No real update, other than a couple of weeks ago the boost issue was resolved by the watchful eye of sexy Rick, he just pulled out the screw on the bleed valve i have running off of the Actuator, and its sorted it out.

Car is still a pile though. Hopefully will have updates shortly

Fail...

Well, was hoping to have a GOOD weekend this one passed, as I hoped to achieve quite a bit, and I kinda did! Spent 3 days swapping turbos (I took lots of breaks and it literally took me half a day to slip the turbo/downpipe back on the car), also painted said turbo pink with some leftover paint I had, heat-wrapped the exhaust section just aft of the downpipe as I figured it being that close to the sump and gearbox would be doing nothing for its thermal efficiency (ooh, big words), and did a service comprising of radiator/engine oil flushes and replacement (with Royal Purple oil too, yum), and the SARD magnetic sump plug and oil filter.

Oh, and as you can note, I got rid of the fiberglass on the manifold as..well, it annoyed the hell out of me. Was quite amusing, a lot of the fiberglass had actually melted into, well, Glass! And...not all is hunkey dorey - on a test drive, the new turbo exhibited a LOT of smoke, and I mean, James Bond evading chasing baddies kinda smoke screen. Not happy. Also, the main reason for me swapping the turbos, seems not to have rectified itself (bar the smoke) - the boost is STILL extremely slow/limited!! Aaargh.

Whilst I was at it I also took pictures of the new wheels on the car to dream a bit...I'll need more than dreaming it seems...
